Living in Jakarta

Hello. My husband and I recently returned from Jakarta on a
recruiting trip. We are seriously considering moving to jakarta
early 1996. Never having lived abroad much less in Jakarta I would
greatly appreciate any advice/contacts/info, etc.. on this topic.
Being American I'm sure we would be involved in the Xpat community,
although I would not want to surround myself with the above. Part of
reason for moving is to experience different culture/country. Never
the less, I am interested in easy adaption and living as comfortably
as possible while exploring the country. I am writing this during a
lapse of jetlag (early am). I would appreciate any assistance and
correspondence you may offer. (don't know where to start). Thanks .
